Landscape Design and Contracting
The Landscape Design and Contracting program is an academic program focusing on the profession, science and business of landscape design/build. The design/build process is typically delivered by one company providing a turnkey of design services followed by construction implementation and management of the built project. Our students are offered a multitude of classes and experiential based learning opportunities to prepare them for careers in this field.
Landscape Design and Contracting students earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Horticulture with a Concentration in Landscape Design and Contracting. This concentration is full accredited by the Professional Landscape Network (PLANET)The curriculum focuses on design, construction, business and plants. Additionally, students are required to complete an internship program, furthering their learning opportunities. Many of our Landscape Design and Contracting students also choose to simultaneously complete the Landscape Business Concentration.
The Landscape Business concentration prepares individuals for careers in business management, production, operations, account management, entrepreneurship, landscape management and project management opportunities in the Green industry. This concentration focuses on both horticulture and business. Students will develop skills in estimating project costs, plant selection and care, as well as business management techniques. Students completing this concentration will also earn a minor in business through the CSU College of Business. This concentration is full accredited by the Professional Landscape Network (PLANET). Additionally, students are required to complete an internship program, furthering their learning opportunities. Many of our Landscape Business students also choose to simultaneously complete the Landscape Design & Contracting Concentration.
